PachyForge - Roadmap to the Future

The open source developer community is dedicated to continually develop, test and release new versions of the Pachyderm application into the future. This section provides an overview of future specifications and updates on current development projects.

Pachyderm 2.1.0 Beta Installer Released

On Tuesday, December 15th, a group of 14 beta testers began testing the Java-basd multi-platform installer for Pachyderm 2.1.0.1. The installer has been sucessfully tested on Pachyderm on Windows XP, Windows 7, Macintosh OSX Snow Leopard and Leopard Server. The development team anticipates that this version of Pachyderm can be successfully installed on Windows 2003 server, Windows NT and OSX Tiger. Testing will conclude on January 1, 2009 and a public version of the installer and Pachyderm 2.1.0.1 should be released shortly afterwards. Pachyderm Roadmap Forums

Community input and support is key to defining Pachyderm development into the future. The Roadmap forums provide places for community discussion on current discuss and future development. Current forums include discussion on version 2.1, including the 2.1.0 specifications, 2.1.X iterative releases, a general Q&A on Pachyderm development and discussion on wishes for future development .

The Roadmap forums also contains section dedicated to Active Development Projects .

Pachyderm 2.1.0 Specification

The Pachyderm Advisory Council released the final specification for the next major version, Pachyderm 2.1.0. This new version to go into development winter 2007 will address outstanding bugs and stability issues from previous versions, standardize template design and functionality, meet 508 accessibility guidelines and facilitate easy installation and upgrading the Pachyderm. Version 2.1.0 will be a relatively large upgrade and will serve as the foundation for smaller, incremental 2.1.X releases to come in the months following the 2.1.0 release (date yet to be determined).
