Our Windows installation of Pachyderm 2.0.4 was working normally, and in particular the “PREVIEW” button was behaving properly, but since upgrading to “Pachyderm 2.0.4
NMC” (as detailed in Appendix 2), the “PREVIEW” button is no longer working.
Specifically, after waiting a long time (5 minutes or so), the browser shows a “Proxy Error” and the command window shows a “socket write error” (see Appendix 1).
I have carefully checked all the apdefault entries, as well as a bunch of .plist files, all to no avail.
Thank you!
Peter

APPENDIX 1: “Proxy Error”
The pachyderm2.CMD command window gives this clue:
[2008-03-27 13:46:52 EST] <WorkerThread14> <WOWorkerThread id=14

> Exception while sending response: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: socket write error
The browser shows the following error message:
Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET

APPENDIX 2: Windows installation of 2.0.4nmc
For upgrading to 2.0.4nmc, the procedure I followed was based on the idea of installing the 2.0.4nmc files in using
http://services.pachyderm.org/clayton/Pachyderm 2.0.4 NMC.zip over the 2.0.4 files, while preserving our database. Our Windows installation of 2.0.4 was based on
http://wiki.nmc.org/nmcpedia/Windows_Pachyderm_Installation
The main steps for installing the 2.0.4nmc files were as follows:
1. Step 5 of "Windows Pachyderm Installation" (using the 2.0.4nmc files instead of Pachyderm051707)
2. Copied contents of "Pachyderm 2.0.4 NMC\wwwroot" to htdocs
3. To retain our existing uploads and presentations, and to avoid having to mess with the MySQL database, I deleted the contents of the "uploads" and "presentations" folders under htdocs and copied back the "uploads" and "presentations" folders from our 2.0.4 installation.
4. Tweaked CLSSPATH.TXT, APOLLOProperties.plist, Properties, and the htdocs\index.html
5. Created the needed MySQL pachy01 user
6. Copied ClearOverPlaySeekMute.swf into the templates folder (i.e. htdocs\pachyderm\templates)
7. Tweaked apdefaults:FlashTemplateDirectory
