Pachyderm installation help 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Is there a beta installer for 2.1 available for me to test/use?

I got most of the way through installation of 2.0 and hit a few problems - the same issues discussed in this thread that I contributed to:
http://www.pachyforge.org/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=16&func=view&catid=87&id=&id=330&catid=87

I would love a point in the right direction - in order to fix these issues - but if instead there is a 2.1 beta installer that I could try - that would be great instead! I'm certainly a willing beta tester if that's a possibility!

What is my best bet for trying to get pachy up and running at this point?

Thanks!

Hi!

I'm no Pachyderm expert, but I managed to install it with the help of the 2.1-Installer that I found here: http://www.pachyforge.org/installers/PachydermInstaller-2.1.jar

I'm running Pachyderm under Windows XP. And thats how it finally worked:
First I installed the following Requirements:

Apache Tomcat 6.x
MySQL 5.x
Java Runtime Environment
ImageMagick 6.5.x

Then try those steps:

1)MySQL settings: user – root, set passwort to „pachyderm21“

2)download the file „msvcr71.dll“ and put it into the „System32“ directory (a Windows System Directory)

3)Start Beta Installer (I suggest to make screenshots of every step for documentation, then you can review your settings if you forget something.)

4)You can leave most of the default settings but you need to enter your "Hostname for Server" and the "Root username for database" and "Root password for database" that you defined before. I completed the Installation Process without changing any defaults just by clicking on "Next" three times and "Continue" when the Installer asks about a possible Pachyderm 2.0 database - which did not exist in my case anyway.

5)Restart Tomcat after the Installation of Pachyderm

6)open a Webbrowser and go to http://localhost:8080/Pachyderm21/WebObjects - If you access via the internet from another computer than your server replace „localhost:8080“ with the URL of your Server

7)Login with Username: administrator and Password: pachyderm

I hope this works for you as well!

good luck

Thank you! I had searched all over for that installer and couldn't find it anywhere.

That's a huge help. And thanks for your installation tips. I'll go through them!

Nice!! After a couple hours of fighting with a mysql database that didn't want to uninstall I've finally successfully installed pachyderm and have it up and running!

Thanks!
