Greetings!

I am trying to get a new installation up and running but am having a problem where I get a java exception whenever we preview or publish a presentation. I wonder if anyone could help me find a way to get more information out of Pachy as to what is making it so unhappy?

I am running ver2.0.4 on a Windows server machine with the latest versions of Apache, MySQL, and JRE.

It looks to me like it might be that either there is a permissions problem or there are missing directories that are causing a failure in the creation of the assets needed to create a published presentation. I would look into the log files and check for failures around assets to confirm. Make sure that the wwwroot is set up with the right directories, and that your temp directory is read/writeable by the user that is running Pachyderm and Apache.

Thanks for your response. I have verified that the user running the pachy has full access to the web root and pachy program directory. Can you advise me on how to "look into the logs"? There is a logs dir but it is empty. Is there something I have to do to turn on logging?

I'm not as versed on the Windows install as I am on the Mac, but the logs directory should produce both an output log and an error log - if they aren't there, it's possible that the permissions on the log directory are not set to writeable by the user that runs apache and WebObjects. Change the directory permissions to world-writeable and try re-running the app.

Can anyone who has more Windows install familiarity help out in finding the location of the logs?

Sorry for the very late reply, but on Windows the logs are found in the Pachyderm installation location, under the Pachyderm\logs\ directory. For example: C:\Program Files\Pachyderm\logs\. Default file names are pachyderm.output.txt and pachyderm.errors.txt.
