Citing Sources within the Pachyderm interface 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello!

I have been using the Pachyderm interface for a few months now. I work for a higher institution and am wondering if anyone's figured out a way to cite within Pachyderm. I use the "slider" template. However, I feel this question does not only apply to this particular template.

I have tried using html anchors within the "slider text" area, which does not work. Since using Pachyderm, I've learned that there are only a few selected html coding that will work within the Pachyderm interface. Does any one have any other suggestion?

Thank you!

All best,
Xiong

Hi-

Yes, it is difficult to cite sources within Pachyderm 2.0. There are many additional options in the 2.1 version which will be released in the next few weeks.

That said, I'm interested in what type of HTML you are trying to use for citing. You can use the bold, italic and html links within the main body text of most templates in 2.0.

Hi Scott,

For citing, I've tried using the anchor tags, which do not work. For example,

<p>Anderson said such and such.<a href="#citation1">1</a> </p>

then here is where the link would go when a user clicks on it:

<a name="citation1">1. Anderson, Jon. University of Minnesota. <u>What did he say?</u> 2008.</a>

Thanks for your reply!

All best,
Xiong

Here's an example of code that does work.
Let me know if it works for you.

Code:

<a href="http://steve.thewalters.org:8080/pachyderm_2_1/presentations/Externals/Carve%20Up%20The%20Area.pdf" target="_blank"><font color="#4199CC">Download the Printable Activity Booklet (PDF)</font></a> <b><i>Click on the buttons below to preview the contents of this printable activity</i></b>

Hi Scott,

We are at this stage for citing sources. What are some of the options with 2.1 that you suggest here?

There is nothing special for citing sources. We typically just put them below the text with a couple line returns.
